I can honestly say, even with sticky fingers, there was no residue left on the panels, it really does work! An interesting finish on the Aurora color range are the vertical lines on the side panel. They change color when the body is rotated against the light, similar to a 3D Hologram.

There is only a 3mm change from fully open to fully closed but it does give a good change of vaping style. The other side edge has a tiny fixed pinhole airflow opening which maintains a tight MTL draw even when the adjustable airflow is fully closed. The bottom of the Vinci is slightly contoured but will stand upright, although not totally stable. The top of the Vinci has a recessed opening for the pod to be located in with two gold plated spring loaded coil contact pins.

The Pod The Vinci pod is re-fillable with a 2ml e-liquid capacity and has an integrated 0. The coil is not replaceable so once the coil degrades the whole pod will need replacing.

Far from it, the quality of the pod is very impressive. I love the fact Voopoo have chosen to use a see-through tint so you can easily see the level of e-liquid in the pod. A reasonably wide bore duckbill type mouthpiece is fully integrated into the pod and tapers down to a circular 5mm section to cater for the MTL vape style.

The pod is a side filling design with the opening concealed behind a flush fitting black silicone rubber plug. Once the plug is removed, the filling hole is a really decent size allowing for the largest of e-liquid tip bottles. On the underside of the pod are the two gold plated coil contacts with a small triple airflow ingress port. There are no magnets on the pod, it simply pushes into the Vinci body and is held in place with a secure snap push fit method.

This method of fitting I found to be really secure, no movement or rattle whatsoever. There is no chance of the pod accidentally becoming detached from the Vinci body. Due to the design and shape of the pod, it can be inserted into the Vinci body either way round.

Lastly and most importantly, Voopoo state these pods are leak free. There are no menus to fiddle with, no wattage adjustments, no firing button and no choice of coils to worry about. The only adjustable control on the device is the adjustable airflow. Quite simply, all you have to worry about is charging the device, make sure you keep the pod topped up with your favourite e-liquid, settle on your desired airflow setting and enjoy your vaping experience.

The only indication of the Vinci is the illuminated GENE logo which lights up when the pod is inserted, lights up when you draw on the device, and cycles when the device is on charge. Sliding the button downwards will open the airflow for a DTL vape. Sliding the button upwards will close the airflow off giving a tight MTL vape. Anywhere between the two will simulate a RDL vape. I did notice that when the airflow is fully shut off the vape does become a little warmer.

In addition to the slider control, there is a very small pin hole just visible on the opposite side of the Vinci body. This maintains the tight MTL vape even when the slider control is fully shut off. I did have some remnants of Mango Ice nic salts left so filled up the pod and left it to stand for 10 minutes to soak into the wick to help protect the coil. With the airflow fully closed I took my first vape and was very pleasantly surprised.

The draw was a nice tight MTL vape and the flavor came through straight away. Throat hit was good from my 18mg nic salts, overall the coil was working really well. The only issue I found was with the airflow wide open, the auto draw required a really good draw to activate.

Flavor and vapor increased and definitely exceeded my expectations. The performance from the coil was impressive and the auto draw activation was spot on. Equally, not once have I had any dry-hits while vaping on the Vinci pod. One observation I did find was once or twice a slight gurgling when drawing on the pod, an indication of e-liquid trapped in the chimney.

This may have been caused by laying the Vinci pod kit on its side. After a few seconds, a drop or two of trapped e-liquid will blot onto the paper towel.

Once clear, your good to go again. As a medium to heavy vaper, I was achieving a good 12 hours vaping from a fully charged battery. Once the LED flashes red 10 times, you will no longer be able to vape and will have to re-charge the battery. The Voopoo Vinci pod is a side fill design. Simply hold the Vinci body with one hand, grasp the pod with your other hand and pull the pod away from the Vinci body.

The fill port is located on the side of the pod and is concealed behind a black silicon rubber flap. This flap sits flush with the side of the pod.

Pull open the flap and insert your e-liquid tip into the opening. Once filled, re-insert the silicon rubber flap making sure the fill port is securely re-seated. One minor observation I found during filling the pod with some of my short stubby e-liquid bottles was sometimes the e-juice, if filled too quickly, would spill over the opening. Re-insert the pod into the Vinci body and push the pod down to securely snap into position.

Quick Tip: If you are filling the pod for the first time, once filled, leave to stand for approx. Because the Vinci pod has a fixed 0.

An indication of the coil degrading will show by either a loss of flavor or a lack of vapor. At this stage, discard the pod and fit a new one. Pull the pod away from the Vinci body. Unfortunately if you still have e-liquid in the pod, this will have to be discarded as well. Remove the plastic film at the bottom of the pod that is protecting the pod coil contacts. As you insert the pod into the Vinci body, the GENE logo will briefly illuminate to identify the pod has been fitted.

Whilst charging, the GENE logo will illuminate and slowly cycle on and off. When first placed on charge, the GENE logo will cycle red in color.

After a short period of time approx. As the charging time further increases approx. Once fully charged, the GENE logo will remain constantly illuminated in green indicating the charge cycle has completed. Charging time takes approximately 70 minutes to fully charge the battery using the supplied charging cable and an appropriate charging source.

Battery Capacity: mAh Design Thankfully, the new Voopoo Air barely strays from that now unmistakable Vinci look: all space-age dark good looks and an ergonomic cuboid body that sits in the hand as if the hand were made for it, not the other way around. Aside from the variety of tastefully coloured and patterned panels the Air can come with, the rest of the body is a sleek, seductive gunmetal grey that exudes premium quality. What the Air offers above all, though, is a lighter, more compact version of the Vinci, at mm tall and an even more lightweight 80g.

Unlike the original Vinci which housed an internal mAh battery, the spare millimetres and grams shaved off the Air have resulted in a mAh battery. That is, however, plenty enough for most vapers who pass by a USB port every other day, and the Vinci Air charges remarkably quickly; from fumes to full throttle in about half an hour.

Like its forebear, the Vinci Air carries the same advanced Gene. AI chipset which bundles together all sorts of useful protections and features under the hood, including short-circuit, overcharge and temperature protections and the super-handy intelligent coil recognition which sets the power output to match the coil you use. We were amazed how little we had to tinker if at all with the power setting after inserting a new coil, with the device detecting the sweet spot for power, flavour and vapour without us having to think about it.

At a slightly lower 30w max power output than previous Vincis, the wattage range still more than conforms to the recommended range of whatever coil you choose to use with the Air. Naturally, the more compact Vinci Air has a more compact LED screen to fit, with simple information such as power output, resistance, puff counter and battery life displayed in pin-sharp black and white. The silicon seal is perhaps a little easier to manipulate on the 2ml Air pod in order to refill with juice, this time around, and it attaches to the mod with strong magnets as before.

A feature that is pure Vinci is the adjustable airflow that is achieved by attaching the pod one of two ways, each producing a different quality of draw. Insert the pod the other way around, however, and you get an immaculate MTL mouth to lung draw.

With improved side vents, Air is a fitting moniker for this latest version of the Vinci. The Coils Another area where Voopoo are really beginning to truly lead the pack is coils.

Specifically, their line of PnP — plug and play- coils which are now compatible with all Vinci devices as well as other Voopoo kits like the Drag Baby and Find Trio.

The Vinci Air comes with a 0. The 0. You can operate it manually with the fire button or with a simple inhalation. This auto-draw feature, carried over from the original Vincis, arguably works even better with the Vinci Air, with virtually zero condensation building up between the pod and the mod. Using the packaged 0. With the 1. Verdict So, is the Air the best Vinci yet?

That may well be the case, but if you ask us the Vinci Air is far too good looking to keep hidden in a pocket, and is so comfortable and easy to use, ours barely left our hands.
